A westbound lane of the Trans Canada Highway near Holyrood was blocked by a snow and mud slide. The slide came in the midst of a storm bringing heavy rain and high winds to the area. Mud and snow slid from a hill onto the TCH between Salmonier and the Holyrood access roads, near the St. John’s Rod and Gun Club.

The snow and mud had blocked the inside lane of the highway, making it impassable, however the passing lane remained clear and RCMP were on scene to assist with traffic flow.
