The Burin town council says it hopes to see work done this season to fix the loose rock problem in the Paul’s Hill area, where a large boulder fell out in the roadway yesterday.

Mayor Kevin Lundrigan says they have been aware of the problem for some time and had been monitoring the rock movement. Tenders had already been called to address the situation before yesterday’s rock slide. Burin Placentia West MHA Clyde Jackman says he has been in contact with the Department of Transportation and Works to get the work expedited as quickly as possible.
