Funding Programs – Culture

Arts Infrastructure and Programming Fund

The Arts Infrastructure and Programming Fund is a one-time funding program designed to enhance arts infrastructure and support community arts activities that increase engagement and participation in cultural activity in the Year of the Arts.

Funding is available in two categories:
1) Facility Equipment Upgrades, or
2) Community Arts Programming.

Cultural Economic Development Program – Arts Component

This program component provides financial support to professional arts organizations for events or projects that stimulate sustainable economic development of the province’s cultural resources.

Publishers Assistance Program

The Publishers Assistance Program supports publishers with potential for sustained or expanding business strength, sound market and business planning, employment growth over the long term, and responsiveness to the provincial literary sector. The program is designed to strengthen the publishing and the literary sectors overall by encouraging quality products, effective marketing, and by making professional development services available to publishers.

Cultural Economic Development Program – Heritage Component

CEDP for Heritage is composed of two components:

Operational Support

  • Operational support is provided to museums, archives, historical societies and historic trusts to assist in the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage.  

Heritage Projects

  • Funding is available to non-profit heritage organizations and individual heritage practitioners whose principal activity is in the cultural heritage sector (e.g. community museums, archives, built heritage, intangible cultural heritage and the material culture sector).

Cultural Events Fund

The Cultural Events Fund supports community cultural projects/activities that present local artists, artisans and/or performers of local historical heritage. The purpose of this fund is to engage citizens in their communities through the arts, as well as through the expression, celebration and preservation of local historical heritage.

Indigenous Cultural Heritage Program

This program supports Indigenous projects that involve the safeguarding of traditions and culture, including language; traditional knowledge and skills; storytelling, music, games and other pastimes; knowledge of the landscape; customs, cultural practices and beliefs; food customs; and living off the land.
