Visitor Services Program

To assist travellers with trip planning and on-the-ground information, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism has a fully integrated visitor services program that includes a contact centre, Visitor Information Centres, signage and free literature distribution.

Visitor Information Centres / Contact Centre

Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism operates 8 Visitor Information Centres (VICs) located at St. John’s International Airport, Deer Lake Regional Airport, Port aux Basques, Deer Lake Highway, Notre Dame Junction, Clarenville, Whitbourne, and Argentia. The 2 airport VICs are open year round and the other VICs are open seasonally, usually May to October. The Travel Counsellors at the 1-800 number and online ‘contact us’ are available year round to answer visitor questions and are often the first point of contact before a travellers visit.

VIC Travel Counsellors are often the first personal contact for many visitors. They have a direct impact on the visitor’s impression of our province and tourism revenues as they encourage longer stays and travel in all regions of the province. Annually, our provincial Travel Counsellors speak with over 150,000 people.

Brochure and Literature Distribution

Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism operates a FREE tourism literature distribution program to tourism operators. Brochures will be distributed and displayed free of charge at provincial and regional VICs.
