On September 28, 2020, the Provincial Government, through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, announced a new $2 million support fund to help alleviate financial pressures faced by provincial sport and recreation organizations as a result of COVID-19. This funding is part of a $72 million federal financial relief package to assist the sport sector announced by the Government of Canada in May.

To be eligible for funding assistance, a provincial sport or recreation organization must be recognized/funded by the Provincial Government.
