In July 2026, there were 3,650 new motor vehicles sold in Newfoundland and Labrador, an increase of 7.8% (or 264 units) compared with July 2025. The total value of sales increased by 14.3% compared with July 2025.
The average price of new motor vehicles sold in the province stood at $51,276 in July 2026, an increase of 6.0% compared with July 2025. Newfoundland and Labrador had the third-lowest average new motor vehicle price among provinces in July 2026, ahead of Prince Edward Island ($49,456) and Nova Scotia ($49,597).
On a year-to-date basis, the number of new motor vehicles sold in Newfoundland and Labrador decreased by 5.2% compared with the same period in 2025, while the value of sales decreased by 0.6%.
At the national level, new motor vehicle sales decreased by 2.0% compared with July 2025, while the value of sales increased by 1.6%. The average price increased by 3.7% to $57,249. On a year-to-date basis, new motor vehicle sales in Canada decreased by 2.2% compared with January-July 2025, and the value of sales increased by 0.5%.
