Responsibilities

The Communications Division is responsible for the provision of strategic communication advice and support to the Minister of Finance and senior officials. This Division is also responsible for the management and direction of external communications and serves as the key media contact for the Department of Finance.

Services

• Providing information to expedite the public communication of the Department’s policies and programs in a timely and appropriate manner
• Advising the Minister of current events
• Ensuring the engagement of communications in the initial stages of significant strategic policy development and issues management
• Providing the necessary support and information to identify and manage issues appropriately
• Providing communications counsel to the Minister and senior officials within the Department
• Supporting various initiatives to enhance communication internally and externally
