Budgeting Division

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating on behalf of the Treasury Board Committee of Cabinet, the preparation and monitoring of the province’s annual budget;
  • Assisting and advising the Treasury Board Committee of Cabinet, government departments, and agencies on all budget-related issues, with the aim of promoting sound financial management in the public sector;
  • Preparing the province’s annual estimates and related documents;
  • Preparing monthly monitoring and forecasting reports;
  • Preparing multi-year expenditure plans;
  • Preparing policies and making recommendations to Treasury Board on budget-related matters;
  • Developing and implementing budget-related systems, policies, procedures; Providing financial advice to the Treasury Board, government departments and government-funded agencies.
