The average price of new motor vehicles sold in the province stood at $50,807 in February 2026, an increase of 3.5% compared to February 2025. At the national level, the average price increased by 0.9% to $57,281 in February 2026. Newfoundland and Labrador had the second lowest average new motor vehicle price among provinces in February 2026, ahead of Prince Edward Island ($50,708).
On a year-to-date basis, the number of new motor vehicles sold in Newfoundland and Labrador decreased by 14.5% compared to January-February 2025, and the value of sales decreased by 12.4%.
At the national level, the number of sales decreased by 0.9% compared to February 2025, while the value of sales was unchanged. On a year-to-date basis, the number of sales for Canada decreased by 3.3% compared to January-February 2025, and the value of sales decreased by 3.1%.
