Our Protected Areas

We have a total of 60 protected areas in Newfoundland and Labrador. Protected areas in Newfoundland and Labrador can be divided into two main groups; 54 of these are provincial protected areas and six are federal protected areas.

There are six types under provincial jurisdiction, and two under federal jurisdiction. Click on the type of protected area below for more information.
