Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to harvest (6,086 m³) a small area in the Mount St Margaret District 17 operating area, where timber has been accessed but not harvested from the previous five year operating plan (1997 – 2002). There will also be some harvesting (20,310 m³) of Partition AAC. Partition stands are small, isolated timber stands that are scattered throughout the district. This is proposed as an integrated saw log/pulpwood operation.

• October 7, 2002 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 11, 2002 – Public comments are due.
• November 21, 2002 – The Minister’s decision was due.
• January 13, 2003 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment.
