Project Description:

The proponent intends to construct an 18 kilometre long by 2 metre wide all terrain vehicle (ATV) trail to facilitate all year round access to a remote cabin located west of the Burgeo Highway, in the Blue Hills of Couteau area. Construction is planned before the end of June 2003 and will take five days using chainsaws and hand tools (no heavy equipment).

• May 14, 2003 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 18 , 2003 – Public comments are due.
• August 5, 2003 – The Minister determined that the environmental effects of this undertaking on wildlife and outfitters in the area would be unacceptable. The undertaking was not permitted.
