Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent plans to upgrade and consolidate sanitary sewage discharge from North Street (adjacent to stadium) to a new outfall pipe to be located at the end of Marine Drive in St. Anthony Harbour. The outfall will consist of 300 mm diameter HDPE pipe and will extend 130 metres offshore into deeper waters outside of the foreshore flats area in St. Anthony Harbour. Construction is scheduled from June to August, 2004.

• October 14, 2003 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 18, 2003 – Public comments are due.
• February 3, 2004 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
