Project Description:

The proponent plans to harvest approximately 1,500 cubic metres of softwood from 31 hectares of mature and overmature softwood stands to the southeast of Terra Nova Lake in Forest Management District 4. Harvesting is proposed to take place in mature black spruce forest located along the old Terra Nova woods road, presently covered under the Abitibi-Consolidated Timber Exchange Agreement with the Crown. No additional road building is proposed as existing road infrastructure is in place.

• December 19, 2003 – The undertaking was registered.
• January 23, 2004 – Public comments are due.
• February 3, 2004 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
