Project Description:

The proponent proposes to dredge a portion of Port Harmon, located in the Town of Stephenville, to depth of 11m to ensure the chartered depth is maintained for a period of five to ten years without the requirement for additional maintenance dredging. The specific areas to be dredged include the turning basin adjacent to the dock and the entire length of the approach channel. Dredging is scheduled to begin in July 2004 with a completion date of December 2004.

• June 1, 2004 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 5, 2004 – Public comments are due.
• July 16, 2004 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
