Project Description:
The proponent proposes to use existing stocks of saw dust and recyclable plastic in manufacturing wood/plastic lumber for residential and commercial markets. The proposed site is within the boundaries of the Matchless Building located on the corner of Robin Hood Bay Road and Sugarloaf Road, in City of St. John’s. The undertaking will be located in a 6,700 sq. ft. section of the building that is to the north and rear of the structure and accessible from Sugarloaf Road. The building is a 56,000 sq. ft. warehouse located approximately 0.5 kilometres from the Robin Hood Bay dump.
- August 11, 2004 – The undertaking was registered.
- September 15, 2004 – Public comments are due.
- September 28, 2004 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment.
