Summary of Environmental Assessment Process
Project Description:
The proponent plans to construct a 6 kilometre snowmobile trail to the south of the community of Little Rapids for viewing the Humber Valley Resort in Western Newfoundland. The proposed trail will start from an existing trail near Transmission Pond and follow a westerly direction along the ridge crossing Matthews Pond to a look out point located midway between the communities of Harrison and Little Rapids. The proposed trail will be approximately 3.5 metres wide and construction is planned for Fall 2004.
- September 28, 2004 – The undertaking was registered.
- November 8, 2004 – Public comments are due.
- November 22, 2004 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
