Project Description:
The proponent has submitted an amendment to the previous registration submitted on February 14, 2005 for a proposed expansion of the Grande Meadows Golf Course at Frenchman’s Cove from 9-holes to 18-holes. The 9-hole expansion is to be located on the peninsula of land surrounded by the Great Garnish Barasway. The amended expansion is to include: 2 holes (3.5 hectares of land) in Frenchman’s Cove Provincial Park on the north side; 4 holes (10 hectares of land) on the northwest side and adjacent to the Provincial Park; and, 2 holes (4 hectares of land) to be reclaimed from the barasway on the southwest side and adjacent to the existing 9 hole golf course. The area to be reclaimed will require approximately 30,000 cubic meters of infill material.
- February 14, 2005 – The initial undertaking was registered.
- June 22, 2005 – An amendment to the undertaking was registered.
- July 28, 2005 – Public comments are due on the amendment.
- August 6, 2005 – The Minister’s decision is due on the amendment.
- June 13, 2007 – The Minister announced the undertaking has been withdrawn.
