Project Description:

The proponent plans an amendment to the five year operating plan to harvest 23,349 cubic metres of timber over a 240 hectare area north of Glenwood and west and southwest of Little Rocky Pond in the Salmon Pond Operating Area, in Forestry District 8 (Lewisporte Management Area). Harvesting is planned to commence in June 2005 and continue until December 2008. The harvesting will be by conventional mechanical methods and will not require construction of any additional primary forest access roads.

• March 22, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 27, 2005 – Public comments are due.
• July 28, 2005 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment subject to conditions.
