South Brook (Pasadena) Watercourse Channel Relocation – Town of Pasadena

Proponent: Town of Pasadena

Summary of Environmental Assessment Process:

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to relocate a section of South Brook, in the Town of Pasadena between Church Street and the Trans Canada Highway, to prevent further erosion from undermining the gabion wall protecting the sewage treatment lagoon. The South Brook flood plain in the area would be excavated to create a new brook channel approximately 125 meters long which would replace the existing 375 meter serpentine channel. Work is expected to take place over two weeks during summer 2005 and will be scheduled to occur after fish spawning activity and coincide with low water levels.
