Seldom Access Road and Water Supply System Upgrading

Proponent: Town of Seldom-Little Seldom

Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent, Town of Seldom-Little Seldom, proposes to construct a 0.9 kilometre gravel access road, starting at the end of the Town’s existing water supply access road, to a proposed 240 metre long earthen dam to be located on the southeast end of Gull Pond. The road will provide the Town’s maintenance staff with access to the dam for intermittent inspection. The purpose of the dam is to alleviate low water pressure and increase water storage by allowing water levels over Gull Pond and Bullock’s Cove Pond to rise approximately 600 millimetres. The project is expected to be completed over one construction season starting mid-summer 2005.
