Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop a 7 kilometre long All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) trail on Route 360 approximately one and a half kilometres northeast of the turn off to Pools Cove. The ATV trail will run in a generally northwest direction from Route 360. The trail is an existing one that needs to be upgraded was formerly used by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro to access the power distribution line running from Bay D’Espoir. The trail will be used to access cabins in the area and for hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreational uses.

• August 31, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 7, 2005 – Public comments are due.
• October 28, 2005 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
