Project Description:

The proponent intends to construct 8.5 kilometres of primary forest access road (Home Pond Road) off the Gander Bay Highway north of Gander Airport and south of Jonathons Pond commencing late in 2005 or early 2006. Mechanical harvesting of the road right-of-way will take place and at least four streams will be crossed. Only currently approved timber inventory will be accessed.

• October 12, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 17, 2005 – Public comments are due.
• January 5, 2006 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment subject to conditions.
