Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent plans the development of a mink farm on a former broiler chicken operation site known as Legge’s Farm at Pynn’s Brook, approximately 6 kilometres north-east of the community of Pasadena. The existing farm infrastructure will be renovated, and plans include starting with 1000 breeding female mink, and expand over three years to 1500 female breeders. Construction/Renovation is tentatively scheduled to begin late Fall, 2005.

• October 19, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
• December 2, 2005 – Public comments are due.
• December 2, 2005 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• December 9, 2005 – The Minister announced the project is released from further environmental assessment review.
