Project Description:

The proponent proposes a subdivision of approximately 10 hectares of privately-owned land adjacent to Indian River in the Town of Springdale, in central Newfoundland . The resort style development will consist of 14 residential lots of approximately 0.3 hectares in size. The subdivision will be accessed via a roadway servicing an existing 5-room commercial inn (The Riverwood Inn) near the rear of the property. Water will be supplied from the Springdale municipal water system and sewage disposal will be by individually designed septic systems. Construction of the development is scheduled to start in September 2006.

• March 22, 2006 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 28, 2006 – Public comments are due.
• May 19, 2006 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment subject to conditions.
