Project Description:

The proponent proposes to operate an auto and metal recycling processing yard in the community of Makinsons, Conception Bay . The site is located on the north side of Country Path Road bound by a range of hills and covered with trees. Construction will consist of clearing and levelling; a driveway and gate will be constructed; a 20 metre weigh scale will be installed; and a 10 metre by 10 metre garage will be built. Construction is expected to last approximately 2 months. The yard will receive scrap metal of all types, including light duty and heavy equipment.

• June 12, 2006 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 19, 2006 – Public comments are due.
• July 27, 2006 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 7, 2006 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
