Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct an All Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) trail from Parker’s Cove to Boat Harbour , on the Burin Peninsula to access Power Horn ATV Trail. The trail will be approximately 8 kilometres long and will follow an existing pole line and barrens. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin this fall.

• September 14, 2006 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 20, 2006 – Public comments are due.
• October 28, 2006 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 3, 2006 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review, subject to a condition.
