Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

The proposed undertaking is located on Route 220, bordered on the North by the main road into Lamaline and to the South by Flagstaff Point. Construction will include access road development, border fencing, 2 mink sheds (150 metres by 14 metres, 60 metres by 9 metres), a manure pad, a cold storage facility (30 metres by 18 metres), a shavings shed (8 metres by 23 metres), office building (3 metres by 6 metres), and equipment storage Room (13 metres by 23 metres). Road construction is to commence in June, 2007 and the remainder from August to September, 2007.

  • April 26, 2007 – The undertaking was registered.
  • June 5, 2007 – Public comments are due.
  • June 10, 2007 – The Minister’s decision is due.
  • June 20, 2007 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
