Project Description:

The proposal is for a vegetable farm on Welburn Bay Road located off Route 520 in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay region. The site consists of approximately 122 hectares, of which 113 hectares will be utilized for the production of locally sold produce. Physical features include a vegetable storage, access laneways, windbreaks, and perimeter fencing. Construction commencement is tentatively scheduled for fall of 2007.

• October 10, 2007 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 16, 2007 – Public comments are due.
• November 23, 2007 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• March 11, 2008 – The Minister releases the undertaking from environmental assessment subject to conditions.
