Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct and operate a mink farm on the north side of Route 514 near Charlottetown . The farm will include five mink sheds measuring approximately 7 metre by 107 metre. In addition, there will be two storage sheds measuring 15 metre by 15 metre. The maximum number of breeding mink is anticipated to reach 3,000. Start of construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in May 2008.

• December 4, 2007 – The undertaking was registered.
• January 8, 2008 – Public comments are due.
• January 18, 2008 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• April 15, 2008 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
