Project Description:

The proponent proposes to carry out an operational aerial control program in Western Newfoundland using the biological control agent Abietiv (nucleopolyhedrovirus). The program will involve application mainly to areas forecast to receive moderate and severe balsam for sawfly defoliation in 2008 or additional adjacent silviculture areas which will be monitored and treated if necessary. The spray blocks are located in the Cormack area near Deer Lake and Sandy Lake.

• June 28, 2008 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• July 7, 2008 – The undertaking was released.
