Project Description:

The proponent proposes to operate a 40 hectare cranberry farm, developed over a five year period. The site is located off Route 320 between Newtown and Lumsden. A new 1.7 kilometre access road will be constructed off route 320. Site work will include ditching, removal of a layer of peat, leveling of beds, discharge/sediment pond, water control structures, sand beds and installation of drainage tile in beds. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in May 2009.

• January 20, 2008 – The undertaking was registered.
• February 25, 2009 – Public comments are due.
• March 06, 2009 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• April 14, 2009 – The Minister rejected the undertaking.
