Project Description:

District 19A contains 2.2 million hectares of land and is located in the Upper lake Melville area of Labrador. The Annual Allowable Cut for the District is 200,000 cubic metres and there will be both commercial and domestic harvest areas. Approximately 73 kilometres of forest access road will be required from both the Crown and commercial operators. Silviculture activities will focus on planting 1000 hectares and pre-commercial thinning will be carried out on 500 hectares of land.

• March 11, 2009 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 15, 2009 – Public comments are due.
• April 25, 2009 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 8, 2009 – The Minister releases the undertaking.
