Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent plans to expand an abandoned quarry to one hectare. Sand and gravel removed from the quarry will used in the operation of the proponent’s cranberry farm. The proposed site is approximately 3.3 kilometres north of Grand Falls – Windsor along Ivany’s Road and 50 metres south of Peter’s River. Site preparation and material extraction is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2009

• October 15, 2009 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 20, 2009 – Public comments are due.
• November 27, 2009 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• January 18, 2010 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment.
