Project Description

The site of the proposed undertaking is located approximately 2 kilometres southwest of Ming’s Bight near Baie Verte, north-central Newfoundland. The proponent proposes to open pit mine the 93,000 tonnes of mineable ore reserves over a four month period starting in mid-June 2010. All ore will be trucked to the Nugget Pond gold mill facility near Snook’s Arm for processing. If approved, construction is scheduled to begin in early June, 2010. Open pit mining operations will start immediately after completion of construction around mid-June 2010.

• April 15, 2010 – Public comments are due.
• April 24, 2010 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 4, 2010 – The project was released.
