Project Description:

The site of the proposed undertaking is located approximately 4.2 kilometres north of Ming’s Bight near Baie Verte, north-central Newfoundland. The proponent proposes to mine 7,600 tonnes of ore reserves from a currently accessible section of the Deer Cove gold-quartz vein. All mined ore, in addition to 4,275 tonnes of low-grade stockpile, will be trucked to the Nugget Pond gold mill facility near Snook’s Arm for processing. If approved, construction is scheduled to begin in early June 2010. Mining operations will begin immediately following completion of construction; approximately early-July 2010.

• April 15, 2010 – Public comments are due.
• April 23, 2010 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 4, 2010 – The project was released.
