Project Description:
The proposal is for an amendment to the existing Crown Five Year Operating Plan for Forest Management District 19A (Central Labrador) to manually plant a 600 hectare burn area located near Muskrat Falls, just south of the Trans Labrador Highway. The proposed activity will consist of the manual planting of greenhouse-reared, containerized black and white spruce seedlings, and should take approximately four weeks per year to complete, providing approximately 10 seasonal jobs each year.
- March 17, 2010 – The undertaking was registered.
- April 23, 2010 – Public comments are due.
- May 1, 2010 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- May 11, 2010 – The project was released.
