Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct and operate a 50,000 ton per year wood pellet mill at an existing saw mill site near the town of Roddickton on the Northern Peninsula. The pellet mill will produce soft wood pellets from fir and spruce wood residue from local saw mills. A new building to house the mill equipment will be constructed over a 10 week period commencing in the spring of 2010. The mill is projected to operate 24 hours per day for approximately 310 days of the year.

• March 24, 2010 – The undertaking was registered.
• March 3, 2010 – Public comments are due.
• May 8, 2010- The Minister’s decision is due.
• June 2, 2010 – The project was released.
