Proponent: ICUS

Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to establish a microbial fermentation facility at 44 Clyde Avenue in Donovan’s Industrial Park, Mount Pearl. The facility will produce microbials (microorganisms) that are used in agriculture as inoculants for increasing crop yields, and as biocontrol agents for increasing plant health and reducing disease. The production process involves growing the organisms in seed vessels, transferring to a production vessel and drying, formulating and packaging. The facility will produce up to 1,500 kilograms of dry material in the first year of production and up to 10,000 kilograms at maximum capacity.
