Project Description:

The timber harvesting amendment to the existing Five Year Operating Plan will open anarea for domestic harvesting near the community of Raleigh on the Great NorthernPeninsula. The Raleigh Domestic Cutting Block (D18-01) borders on the northeast end ofthe Raleigh Municipal Boundary and covers an area of 105 hectares of productive forestland, providing access to an additional 3,312 cubic metres of timber. The timber will beharvested by domestic cutters for fuelwood and sawlogs. Harvesting activities willcommence in the winter of 2011.

• December 9, 2010 – Public comments are due.
• December 17, 2010 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• January 27, 2011 – The undertaking was released.
