Project Description:

The proponent intends to develop a gravel and sand quarry two hectares in size,approximately 15 kilometers east of Wabush. The quarry is adjacent to existing quarries operating in the area and existing access roads will be used from Route 500. Material will be screened on site and the pit will operate from May until November, annually.

• June 23, 2011 – The undertaking was registered.
• August 4, 2011 – Public comments are due.
• August 7, 2011 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 18, 2011 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
