Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal the development of a 13-kilometre coastalhiking trail from Bauline to Portugal Cove. Operations will include construction ofboardwalks, crib steps, retaining walls, signage, stairs and bridges. The proposed hikingtrail will provide the tourist industry a safe hiking surface built to withstand a highervolume of traffic and minimize damage to sensitive environments. The work is scheduledto begin in early 2012.

• October 3, 2011 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 7, 2011 – Public comments are due.
• November 14, 2011 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• December 2, 2011 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
