Project Description:

The proponent proposes to develop approximately 20 hectares of land for forage productionin the Barachois River – Cartyville area, near St. Fintan’s. The development of forage fieldswill require the removal of all vegetation including stumps and stones, leveling, addition ofsoil amendments and planting of forage seeds for grasses and legumes. The proposeddevelopment would provide quality forage for the dairy industry. Land clearing is proposedto begin in fall of 2011 and continue over a two to three year period.

• November 3, 2011 – The undertaking was registered.
• December 9, 2011 – Public comments are due.
• December 18, 2011 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• September 28, 2012 – Project is rejected.
