Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to construct a two kilometre ATV trail along anexisting cut line that borders the pre-1984 boundary for Gros Morne National Park. Theproposed trail will be 3.5 metres wide and will be located approximately five kilometressouthwest of Trout River. This site is currently designated a community pasture and theobjective of the proposed ATV trail is to re-establish access from Adams Road to theexisting Mogul Road. Work will include grubbing, ditching, some leveling and theplacement of several culverts and one small bridge.

• February 9, 2012 – The undertaking was registered.
• March 21, 2012 – Public comments are due.
• March 25, 2012 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• April 19, 2012 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
