Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to construct 34 kilometres of roads in westernLabrador in order to facilitate diamond drilling of potentially economic iron ore bodies. Thework will consist of expanding existing trails into roads, new road construction, developmentof four borrow pits and the installation of culverts and bridges across 14-15 streams. Theproponent has indicated that an Environmental Protection Plan will be submitted thatconsiders all aspects of road construction activities as well as all activities associated withthe subsequent drilling and exploration program. Road construction is scheduled to becompleted during 2012-2013.

  • May 29, 2012 – Public comments are due.
  • June 2, 2012 – The Minister’s decision is due.
