Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal for the development of a quarry located 0.6 kilometres north of the Pinware River Bridge in the Pinware River Valley, Labrador. The proposed quarry will consist of excavating one hectare of land between the North side of the abandoned Route 510 and the Pinware River. Operations will include clearing,grubbing, quarrying, screening of materials and transporting the processed aggregate to the local area. The proposed quarry is needed due to the depletion of resources in an existing quarry and will provide a long-term supply for blending and for asphalt batch plant operations in the local area. The proposed work is scheduled to begin May 2013.
