Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to develop a 1.5 hectare bedrock aggregate quarry site on the Burin Peninsula. The quarry will be located five kilometers west of St.Lawrence and be adjacent to two other quarries with a combined area of 12 hectares. The project will involve stripping and stockpiling materials using a hydraulic breaker. Lawn Brook, a scheduled salmon river, is within 200 metres of this proposed undertaking.

• May 2, 2013 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 13, 2013 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 17, 2013 – The minister’s decision is due.
• June 27, 2013 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
