Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to expand an existing 10 hectare quarry operationby 20 hectares. There will be three quarry permits associated with this new 30 hectarequarrying area located approximately 11 kilometers east of Cliff’s Underpass on the TransLabrador Highway in western Labrador. Work will consist of drilling, blasting, crushing,screening and washing of aggregate for purposes of supplying the local concrete, asphaltand construction market. This operation would operate between May 1 and December 31annually.

• February 27, 2014 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 3, 2014 – Deadline for public comments.
• April 12, 2014 – The minister’s decision is due.
• June 24, 2014 – The minister announced that the project is released.
