Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to carry out mineral exploration assessment work in western Labrador, 35 kilometres northwest of Schefferville, Quebec. The main physical features created during the undertaking will be 4.2 kilometres of access trails required to bring in equipment for drilling.   All trails will have skidded equipment with a small bulldozer pulling to minimize the overall disturbance.    Other work to be conducted includes trenching and the rehabilitation of all disturbances upon completion of the exploration program.  The period of operation will be limited to the work permits which coincide with the year end, December 2015.

• February 6, 2015 – The undertaking was registered.
• March 13 , 2015 – Deadline for public comments.
• March 22,  2015 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• July 23, 2015 – The Minister annouced that the project is released.
