Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to develop a 10-hectare gravel and sand pit in an area heavily developed for quarry use. This new site will be on the Horse Chops Resource Road at Birchy Bay. The project will involve vegetation clearing and grubbing as well as pit development. Operations within the pit will include excavation and loading of materials, screening and transportation of materials to and from the screener.

• March 11, 2015 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 17, 2015 – Deadline for public comments.
• April 25, 2015 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 21, 2015 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
